OXBOW-MASARDIS SNOWMOBILE CLUB

Northern Maine Snowmobile Riding At Its Best!

Home: Welcome
Race car driver

The Oxbow-Masardis Snowmobile Club was founded in 1987 by local lodge owners who saw the need for a recreational destination where snowmobilers can get away from crowded trails and enjoy small town hospitality.

The snowmobile trails are maintained from mid-December to the beginning of April. Upgrades to our trails are performed throughout the year by club volunteers. The average yearly snowfall ranges from 120 to 150 inches.

Oxbow, located in eastern Aroostook County is named for the oxbow section of the Aroostook river. Our town has a year around population of around 45 residents. Our sister town, Masardis lies 5 miles north on State Route 11. Masardis is best known to snowmobilers as the site of the Carl Sherman Memorial suspension bridge.

The Maine Interconnecting Trail System (ITS) routes ITS 81, ITS 85 and ITS 86 intersect in Oxbow. Many miles of local club trails also provide an opportunity to observe the many forms of wildlife present in the north woods.

Our snowmobile trails are maintained by a 2012 Tucker 2000 SnoCat with a Trail Paver II drag. Our groomer operators log an average of 500 hours each year.

The area is a year around destination for hunters, boaters, campers and other recreational activities.
